50s Kitchen Update!

Moving into our house in 2000, we discovered we had a 1950s kitchen installed, yellow and very old. It took us 23 long years, but we finally were able to update it for an amazingly low budget of just under £3000 (with no new appliances) using units that were flat packed, paint, tiles, and lots of hard work. As our house was exempt from building regulations when it was built in 1974, we found some horror stories under the old plasterboard, but it took us around 6 weeks and we are delighted with having gone from Yucky Yellow to Great (Sage) Green!
