Dehumidifier Resurrected

My 10 year old EBAC dehumidifier making some serious noises after running for most of the Winter - sounded like a bearing or the fan motor was about to seize. So before condemning the whole unit and buying new dehumidifier at £250 + I thought I’d replace the fan and motor assembly at £45, but just as I was about to order the fan I thought I’ll get the old faithful can of WD-40 out of the shed and give it a ‘dab’ on the fan motor compensator spring as it’s got to be worth a shot and nothing to lose , and Hey- ho it’s now back up and running as good as new and ready for next Winter.
