Restoration of 'Stan' 20 note hand turned street organ
'Stan' is a 20 note Deleika hand turned street organ, it was kindly given to me as a project last September, from a kind gentleman called Stan. His daughter had seen me with my own street organ at a show and asked if I'd like a project as her dad planned to chop it up the organ he had for firewood as it didn't work. I quickly accepted and picked it up the following week. When I got it alot of the pipework had fallen off and handle was seized (a bit of WD-40 was needed). Organs pipework was refitted correctly, bearings freed and lubricated. A new belt made as the old one had broken. The bellows were sent to be re-leathered as the ones in it wouldn't hold air. Organ was put back together, some new music ordered and it now plays beautifully. When the organ was finished I took it back to Stan who was over the moon it played so well, unfortunately he passed away late last year so the organ is now named in his memory.
